15 minutes after being seated i flagged down a waitress so i could order coffee. I wish I could say it was busy but the place was half empty. I ordered ham and pancakes and got the pancakes. One out of two ain't bad. It's the only time I have ever been there and maybe the whole place was having a bad day. Oh well there are plenty of other choices surrounding the place.

The owner here abuses her staff. These are young people from Russia who I believe come in the summer through an agency. I suppose they come to make a little money, have an adventure, and experience another country. Instead they will go home with bad memories of their boss screaming at them in the middle of the shop. Customers in the shop? Who cares! Scream away! Kids looking on? No worries for this business owner. We've gone in there twice and experienced the same scene: a blonde crazy woman screaming at a cowering Russian girl who eventually is moved to tears and runs to the bathroom. Nice.

Everyone goes here Aldo's is one of the places on Block Island that everyone knows and goes to. It's located only a short walk from the ferry and you can actually smell the baked goods as soon as you get across Water Street. The store is small and dark with a few tables and chairs set up inside. However it has a fantastic porch in the front where you can eat your ice cream or pastries. It is great returning from a bike ride and then pigging out on their great ice cream or desserts. No, it's not health food but it is so good, especially since it is on Block Island. It's hard for me to think of a better way to spend a summer afternoon than sitting on Aldo's porch, looking at the ocean and eating ice cream.

Great spot for the earliest coffee available on the island. Nice baked goods and breakfast sandwiches. Early risers...this is your place!

Aldo's Bakery is one of the trademarks of Block Island in my opinion. While they are almost in constant competition with 'The Ice Cream Place' for customers, they have a very faithful following. Wether you insist on a waffle cone or a cupcake, the quality control is tight and you're sure to get a homemade piece of goodness time and time again. My family has been going to the Block for the better part of 20 years and everyone knows everyone by name. Most every single summer night we converge on Aldo's to share tales of the day over a small cup of ice-cream.

I wish I could said I liked this place better. Pastry was stale. I've never seen so many teens standing around not working or helping. Gelato was good.

Aldo's made our wedding cake and it was delicious! It was so moist and flavorful, i was so glad we ordered one too big, because I couldn't stop eating the leftovers for days after the event! It was a simple yellow cake with white frosting, which my daughter and I decorated with some brown sugar to look like sand and chocolate shells and a couple of adirondack chairs! Everyone loved it! We also had some of their muffins and cinnamon rolls for our brunch the next day, fantastic!

Two things. 1. They false advertise. They advertise that they have Sorbet. Sorbet by definition has no milk. They don't serve anything without dairy. 2. From the ice cream my family had, they said it was bland and not worth eating.

We came to Aldo's because the line across the street at The Ice cream Place was too long. The line at Aldo's wasn't long but it was confusing and other customers that were behind us kept getting served before us. The ice cream was good but not as good as other homemade ice cream I'd had. Overall, it was a weird experience.

The pastries LOOKED fresh and delicious so we ordered a bunch to go. We were extremely disappointed later to bite in and realize they were all terribly stale!!! We compared it to taking a bite of drywall. We weren't looking for any frills but at the least a bakery should have fresh moist items.

I can smell the baked goods in this place. It's so good! Nice patio outside with tables, chairs, umbrellas. There were so many people when I went inside (5 pm on Saturday). The desserts ( and chocolates and candies) on one side look so yummy. They have great coffee too especially the latte! On the other side is ice cream and gelatos. I got the Dark Chocolate gelato and it tasted amazing, so creamy! Long customer line but the people behind the counter were polite and helpful! Best dessert place on the island! And just a short walk from the main dock. Grab something right before you board the ferry!

The ice cream was delicious and the staff was very friendly. Located near Aldo's mopeds. Would come back again.

This is a total dessert emporium, with a large case of baked goods as well as many ice cream flavors -- and a variety of coffees, too. I tried one of the ice cream flavors in a sugar cone. The serving size is fairly generous -- or at least seems that way as it melts down the outside of your cone and down your hand. The ice cream was cold, creamy, and rich, as ice cream should be. If I lived on this island, I'd try some of their baked goods. Maybe next visit.

Great big chocolate chop cookies!!!! We stopped in the bakery of this restaurant and shared a large and thick chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was totally worth it if you want to cheat on your eating plan! I am almost positive it was made with butter. The rest of the goodies look really yummy also. Will stop in on the next trip.

The ice cream at Aldo's Bakery is homemade, and I can tell. I went here not once but twice during the 10 hours or so that I was on Block Island. The first time I got the birthday cake ice cream with hot fudge and it was absolutely perfect. The second time, I got mango gelato, also incredible. My only regret is that I didn't try at least one of their homemade baked goods as well, because they looked like they were to die for. There wasn't much seating inside, but I was perfectly content to enjoy my ice cream while walking around the island instead.

Good spot to get some ice cream! The cheesecake looked delicious too and I wanted to swing back through but we ran out of time before we had to catch the ferry. The staff is friendly as well. While signing the credit card receipt my ice cream flopped right off my cone like in a classic cartoon. They promptly made me another cone without any fuss.

Right before we caught the ferry home, my boyfriend and I went to Aldo's for some ice cream. As soon as I walked in, I really liked the place. It was friendly, fun and open and had a lot of great looking choices, from the pastry case when we walked in, to the back where we were going to get ice cream. The people working the counter were extremely friendly and patient as we weighed our options. I got a hot fudge sundae, and the girl who helped me made suggestions and comments about what to get on the sundae and you could tell she really enjoyed her job. One of the guys behind the counter rented us our moped earlier and chatted us up about how that worked out for us and about our day on the island. We really enjoyed our trip here. The ice cream counter reminded me of when I went to pick out all those fun flavors when I was a kid, and I don't know the last time I had a sundae. I got peanut butter and chocolate. It was awesome. The whole place had a fun vibe and although we didn't get any bakery items, everything in the case looked fantastic. Can't wait to go back on our next trip!

I cannot leave my boat or the island without purchasing a PEACH muffin from Aldo's. Please keep bringing them to Salt Pond !!! It is part of my summer ritual. "Coffee Aboard".........

Bake goods are not too good so go for something simple, I got a doughnut from here and it tasted like bread with chocolate glaze. So do not get doughnuts.

This place isn't very good. The ice cream is just OK. We overpaid for their breakfast one time. The food was bland and they didn't have any good options (fairly priced) for beverages. They were out of orange juice. It was not a good breakfast experience. We like the sound of the bakery boat crier when we wake up on anchor but haven't bought anything off of it. Overall, I've never been very pleased with Aldo's and their monopoly on the island.

Love this place. We went here every morning during our stay. The breakfast sandwiches were really good, good coffees/teas/espresso drinks, staff was super friendly, and the ice cream wasnt too shabby either! Looking forward to coming back each time we visit block island!

Absolutely dreadful customer service, and it always has been. I've been coming to the island every summer for 32 years. Many years ago, this was the only place open for breakfast so we would always stop in for a quick breakfast to take onto the ferry. Today we did the same, and the clueless teenagers were completely thrown by our order for two bagels toasted with cream cheese, and a large chocolate milk. It took about 10 minutes to get all that together, after we repeated ourselves no less than 5 times, to three different people. To add insult to injury, the bagel tasted like a stale Lender's bagel. Truly pathetic. I am mystified at how they've managed to stay in business.

A pretty good selection of homemade goods, the best on the island I'd guess. A fair selection of gelato, frozen yogurt, and ice cream too. I really wanted to try one of the cinnamon sugar pastries, but I did not have the courage to face the scale afterwards. I had a cup of stracciatella gelato, my girl had a cone of black raspberry frozen yogurt. I am not sure why, but my gelato was really stringy - I was achieving strings of gelato up to a foot from spoon-to-bowl, and it was a little strange. Both of us remarked that the flavor was "unremarkable" but alas, it was sweet and cold on a hot and sunny day. I also was surprised, though I shouldn't have been, at the $8.90 bill for two ice creams. Seems pretty high to me, even at island prices. If you go here, I'd recommend the delicious-looking pastries and the Del's, the ice cream / yogurt / gelato that we had wasn't really anything worth mentioning.

WIFI heaven. If you are looking for fast and reliable WIFI on block island, go directly to Aldo's Bakery and get yourself a yummy ice cream cone to help you get work done. Do Not I repeat do not go to the Island Free Library for WIFI access, the library is S L O W and frequently does not work.
